DGM HQ.
Nicky Bookkeeper in around 08.45, Mr. Stormy around nine.
This morning, the sense of a period approaching its natural completion, accompanied by the choice to allow & co-operate with that completion. The effects of this decision are beginning to reverberate in my feelings, noting that the reverberations have no movement. Time to allow the future to present itself, without pinning it down by clinging to established forms. Conventionally, traditionally, this is one function of the Sabbatical.
11.24 A kitchen discussion with Nicky & David, overviewing the current financial position, the effects & repercussions on us of spending 15 months dealing with major international corporations who have, mostly, been reluctant to address incompetence & negligence on an alarming scale; which incompetence becomes intentional action by firstly, denying it; secondly, declining to address the consequences & repercussions of that incompetence (eg by paying-over large amounts of unpaid royalties); thirdly, by deliberately blocking the speedy & honourable resolution of arising issues.
This followed by a pivotal kitchen discussion with David I…

12.30 Another major interview addressing ITCOTCK declined.
This year I could do the same interview, all over the world, in all formats known or about to be discovered, become regarded by many as an important character in the emergence of a musical genre that was mostly ridiculed by most of the people who would like to ask me about it - until last year. It would seem there is a “prog revival” underway.
Until 2001, I spent more time talking about the music I was playing than playing it. In the past, I looked on interviews as part of my work. Today, interviews are no longer part of my job description.
